Number Recognition with Pompoms

What You Need:   

• Recognition with Pompoms Charts 1 to 4

• Recognition with Pompoms Charts 5 to 10

• Pompoms or gems or other counting objects

• Glitter Glue (optional)

• Plastic Sleeve for storing charts (optional)

• Math Binder (optional)

What You Do:

1.  Use glitter glue to add texture to the numerals on the chart.

2. Place pompoms or gems within easy reach of your child.

3. Model this activity*. Start with the number 1 and 2. When child is competent, add more numbers.

4. Trace numeral with index finger, while saying its name.

5. Place a gem or pompom on each circle.

6. Repeat while interest lasts.
